Outstanding Night Skies Across Rockies and Southwest
Tonight’s astrophotography conditions are strongest in the Rockies and Southwest, with near-perfect scores in cities like Denver, CO (98), Las Vegas, NV (99), and Los Angeles, CA (100). The Great Plains and Midwest also offer excellent viewing opportunities, with Sioux Falls, SD at 94 and Milwaukee, WI at 95. The Pacific Northwest shows mixed conditions; Seattle and Portland have excellent skies, but Boise is only fair due to higher cloud cover. The Northeast and Southeast face challenging conditions, with many cities rated poor, including Washington, DC and Atlanta, GA, where heavy cloud cover and rain limit visibility. Albany, NY stands out in the Northeast with excellent conditions. Overall, the best opportunities are in the western half of the country.
