Mixed Skies Across the Nation for Stargazing
Tonight’s astrophotography conditions vary widely across the U.S. The Pacific Northwest offers some of the best opportunities, especially in Boise and Spokane, with scores of 93 and 86 respectively, featuring low cloud cover and excellent visibility. The Great Plains also show strong potential, with Fargo, Wichita, and Oklahoma City all rated Excellent and minimal cloud interference. The Midwest has pockets of good viewing, notably Minneapolis and Milwaukee, but several cities like Indianapolis and Columbus face poor conditions. The Southwest and Southeast regions generally struggle with higher cloud cover and rain chances, with Las Vegas standing out as an exception with a near-perfect score of 99. The Northeast is mostly poor to fair, though Boston and Portland, ME, offer better viewing windows. Rocky Mountain cities mostly rate poor, except Salt Lake City with excellent conditions.
