Strong Astrophotography Conditions in Rockies and Southwest
Tonight’s best astrophotography conditions are concentrated in the Rockies and Southwest regions, with cities like Boise, ID scoring a perfect 100 and Las Vegas, NV and Phoenix, AZ both near-perfect at 99. Salt Lake City and Denver also offer excellent viewing with zero cloud cover. The Great Plains show mixed conditions, with Fargo and Sioux Falls rated excellent, but Wichita and Oklahoma City struggling with poor to fair scores. The Northeast and Southeast generally provide good to excellent opportunities, especially in Washington, DC and Charlotte, NC. The Pacific Northwest and Midwest face more challenges, with many cities rated fair or poor due to higher cloud cover and rain chances.
The Rockies stand out with consistently excellent scores, including Salt Lake City at 99 and Denver at 96, benefiting from minimal cloud cover and excellent visibility.
